One thing I WILL miss about Peter working at DC Energy is all the fun activities and outings there. I remembered that when Peter initially told me about running for "co-hort" rep at DCE, I was perplexed, until I realized this meant he could have more control over which activities they partake in as a company and also push for more foodie events we would like hehe
Anyhow, this DCE event was NOT planned by Peter, or else we would have had food there AND we may not have been sitting way at the top in the very last rows of the Verizon Center!!!
Thankfully, we could still see and the hockey match between the Capitals and Thrashers ended up being way more fun than we anticipated!
If you've ever wondered what the view is like from the very top/nose-bleed seats at the Verizon Center, here it is!
He's like "Who are you? And why is there a flash in my face?" LOL

So a few words of advice for those thinking Chinatown D.C. is a place to get yummy Chinese food, simply put, it's not...STAY AWAY!
We read reviews of Chinatown Express on YELP and why did we still go? Well, we originally planned to go to Full Kee, except their BBQ looked all dried out and I don't think there was a drip of juice in the Roast Duck hanging by the window even if you tried squeezing it really hard!
So we got up and left Full Kee, and walked by Chinatown Express and despite the warnings on YELP, we thought we'd give it a try, though I told Peter if I saw one thing running around in there (that was not human) I was out of there PRONTO!
Thankfully we experienced Chinatown Express MINUS the cockroach appearances, but yah...well it sucked...
On the outside, everything appears fresh and in place...even the dishes look nice!
I can't even imagine how clean or regulated the temperature is in that fish tank...
This was clearly BEFORE we got our food and had taken any bites in it LOL
So, this picture makes everything look so juicy and yummy, well my BBQ Pork was bone dry and no fat, the Soy Sauce Chicken was dry and not juicy...I think this meat has basically been microwaved a million times and probably kept until it's sold to a stupid couple like us, who ordered it...
These Xiao Long Baos are amongst the WORST we have ever had...people on YELP are spot on when they say dough is tough and there is absolutely NO JUICE or SOUP in these!!!
So funny/sad, when we asked the owner about these JUICELESS Xiao Long Baos, he replied "Oh sometimes, they forget to add the soup in there, so there is no juice, and sometimes they cook for too long and forget and so its overcooked." And then he proceeded to walk away...
Nice, and we just sat there staring after him amazed he pulled that response on us! LOL
This was probably the only truly edible dish we had, the noodle soup with chicken, the broth was at least very soothing and tasty, and the green onions added flavor to the noodle soup (though I'd hate to imagine how clean that knife was that was used to chop up these raw green onions)...the noodles are apparently made fresh each day, but then again, we wouldn't really count on it.
