Restaurant Week @ Sushi Taro
We were shocked to hear that Sushi Taro was participating in Restaurant Week DC this past January and thanks to Peter for planning this Restaurant Week, we got reservations early before everything booked up here.
Sushi Taro had closed for a short period to renovate, rejuvenate and redecorate both the interior and the menu.
When it reopened in February 2009, many people who once loved Sushi Taro were turned off by the new menu set up and the increase in prices across the board.
The menu is comprised of either small plates or kaiseki (multi-course menu) or the sushi bar options but I quite liked the new menu and didn't mind NOT SEEING "Chicken Teriyaki or Tempura set dinners" there anymore...
I thought this light fixture was such a piece of art...love it!!
This sushi bento box was DELICIOUS...definitely coming back to for the Sushi Taro Sushi Bar Dining Experience in the near future!!

Off to prepare for Superbowl Sunday now :)
Ohhh you went too!!
Have you been to Sushi Taro before? It used to be a fav of ours when I lived in Dupont Circle...if you make it for lunch, I know they used to have great lunch bentos/specials too!!
I also highly recommend Makoto in Upper Georgetown for lunch, 20 USD a person you get a 4 course lunch which is SUPER YUMMY too!!
Oh I was not a heel girl for ages but I realized I kept buying them so I should just start wearing them and these are actually not too bad on the comfort scale!!

Sushi Taro restaurant week was AMAZING. I don't think I'd ever go to Sushi Taro outside of Restaurant Week since it's expensive, but I was happy to see they were participating this year and the new digs are nice! What you got for $35 was a LOT of food. In fact, I ended up bringing back almost all of the sushi for my boyfriend to eat.
I didn't mind the fact that they gave absolutely no choice in what you could eat--guess people with allergies or dietary restrictions shouldn't go here. More for us!
p.s. your blazer is so cute! I have boots that look very similar to yours. How do you wear them? They're so uncomfortable after a few minutes of standing/walking T_T
